Apply

Deliver the projects that build Solx's next generation of manufacturing capacity. As part of the owner's project team on a multi-year capital expansion program in Puerto Rico, you'll own assigned projects and work packages end to end — from design development through site work, construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and handover to operations. This is a hands-on, field-facing role: you'll act as the owner's representative to the EPC/EPCM contractors, A&E firms, and equipment OEMs who execute the work, and you'll be accountable for what actually gets built — on scope, on budget, on schedule, and safely. Reports directly to the VP, Capital Projects.

What you'll do

  • Own scope, schedule, budget, and risk for assigned projects and work packages from design through commissioning and turnover to operations.
  • Serve as the owner's representative to EPC/EPCM contractors, A&E firms, and equipment OEMs; run the day-to-day contractual and technical interfaces.
  • Drive design development and constructability reviews, and resolve interface conflicts between facility design and process-equipment requirements.
  • Manage procurement, expediting, and logistics of long-lead equipment and materials — including port, customs, and island freight considerations.
  • Direct field execution: mobilization, work sequencing, permits to work, inspections, quality holds, punchlist, and turnover packages.
  • Own construction safety on assigned scopes; hold contractors to their EHS programs and exercise stop-work authority without hesitation.
  • Run project-level change control — identify trends early, evaluate and document changes, and route them through the program's change process.
  • Coordinate equipment installation, hook-up, commissioning, and qualification with process technology, operations, and OEM field service.
  • Maintain complete project records: contracts, RFIs, submittals, correspondence, as-builts, and turnover documentation.
  • Interface with permitting authorities, utilities, and inspection agencies to keep approvals ahead of the schedule.
  • Report status, risk, and forecast to the VP, Capital Projects on a fixed cadence, with the detail behind every number available on request.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related discipline — or equivalent hands-on project management experience.
  • 8+ years managing capital construction projects, including at least one industrial or advanced-manufacturing facility carried from design through commissioning.
  • Owner's-side or EPC/EPCM project management experience on projects of $50M or greater.
  • Demonstrated command of contract administration, change control, RFIs and submittals, and turnover documentation.
  • Hands-on field construction management experience; comfortable leading in an active, multi-contractor construction environment.
  • Working knowledge of construction safety programs and permit-to-work systems.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling and construction management tools (Primavera P6 or MS Project; Procore or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you can brief an executive and a foreman on the same day and be equally clear.
  • Willingness to be based on-site in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico for the duration of the build.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Experience building semiconductor fabs, advanced electronics or display fabs, battery/BESS gigafactories, or comparable cleanroom or advanced-manufacturing facilities preferred.
  • Direct experience managing equipment installation, hook-up, commissioning, and qualification with process OEMs preferred.
  • Project delivery in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, or other island or logistics-constrained environments (including Jones Act considerations) preferred.
  • PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. clean-energy manufacturing incentives (Section 45X, 48C) and domestic-content requirements preferred.
  • Experience helping stand up project-execution processes at a scaling manufacturer preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the facility and process-utility systems advanced manufacturing requires — power, water, HVAC, compressed air, and environmental systems — preferred.
