Be Solx's eyes, ears, and authority on the construction site. As Construction Manager, you're the owner's representative over the EPC and general contractor — the person on the ground who holds the physical build to the design, schedule, budget, quality, and safety we require. You'll lead field superintendents and field QA/QC and make sure what gets built is what was drawn. This is a hands-on, on-site role for a seasoned builder who has run large, complex projects and knows how to drive contractors without doing their job for them. You'll coordinate across every trade — civil, structural, building, MEP, and equipment installation — and keep the work moving, safe, and in spec. Reports directly to the Project Manager.
What you'll do
- Serve as the owner's representative on site, overseeing the EPC/general contractor and their subcontractors day to day.
- Lead field superintendents and field QA/QC to ensure work is built to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Enforce the construction schedule and sequencing; monitor progress, surface delays early, and drive recovery plans.
- Review and validate contractor progress, pay applications, change orders, and RFIs in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Own field safety oversight; hold all contractors to the site safety program and stop work when conditions require it.
- Coordinate field execution across civil, structural, building, MEP, and equipment-installation trades.
- Manage inspections, materials testing, and commissioning readiness across trades.
- Track and document field conditions, deficiencies, punch lists, and as-built accuracy.
- Escalate risks, quality issues, and cost or schedule impacts to the Project Manager with clear options.
- Support systems turnover, closeout, and handover to commissioning and operations.
What you bring
- 10+ years in construction management, including owner's-representative or general-contractor superintendent/CM roles on large, complex projects.
- Experience overseeing an EPC or general contractor on projects of $50M+.
- Deep field construction knowledge across civil, structural, and MEP scopes.
- Strong command of construction scheduling, QA/QC, and jobsite safety.
- Ability to read and enforce drawings and specifications and to manage RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline — or equivalent field experience.
- Strong field presence and the ability to drive contractors to schedule, quality, and safety without micromanaging.
- Willingness to be based on-site in Puerto Rico for the duration of construction.
- Experience on industrial, advanced-manufacturing, cleanroom, or fab construction projects preferred.
- OSHA 30 and/or PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience delivering projects in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, or other tropical, hurricane-exposed environments preferred.
- Experience with equipment-installation and commissioning-readiness coordination preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
